Day one - Arrival in Belgrade, meeting and assistance at the airport. Transfer to the hotel - After short rest, we start our panoramic sightseeing of Belgrade. (Sightseeing tour same as described in City break 1) Overnight in the hotel Day two - After breakfast departure from Belgrade and tour through picturesque countryside of central Serbia (Sumadija). Departure for Topola, town in the very heart of Sumadija. It is an ancient fown marked during the 18-20 century. Visit to the Karadjordje fortification, residence, church, monument and memorial park. Near the town, at the hill of Oplenac there is the complex comprising the church of Saint George and mausoleum of the Karadjordjevic dynasty. Famous mosaics in the church and in the crypt are among the best achievements of fresco paintings in Serbia. The relics of the Karadjordjevic dynasty are placed in the crypt. On our way to Zlatibor mountain we pass the monasteries of the Ovcar-Kablar region. In the beautiful gorges of Western Morava river are 14 Serbian old monasteries from the 13,14,15 and 16 century. Most of them were built during Turkish invasion when orthodox churches had to move to isolated parts of the country. Scattered among the cliffs, illuminating the landscape with the strong spirit they are Serbian "Mount Athos". Free time for lunch in traditional restaurant. Ruins of the old town of Uzice can be seen on the way to Zlatibor, mountain known for its remarkable beauty, vast pastures, picturesque hills, rivers and creeds. A "healthy" mountain, suitable for relaxation, recreation activities and a good place for congress tourism. A large number of hotels, rest homes and apartments will offer all the necessary for you to feel good and comfortable. Diner and overnight in the hotel.
Day three - After breakfast we will continue our tour to Sirogojno village Sirogojno - the world famous fashion center where women continue the folk craft work tradition. In organized home manufacturing hand knitted pullover, jackets, sweaters, coats, dresses, shawls, caps are made. These unique, hand knitted and woven garments have became attractive worldwide and are sold in shops in New York, Paris and Rome... They have won numerous awards and acknowledgements. Possibility of buying some of the articles. "Old Village" museum we can see Zlatibor log cabins, the most accomplished form of traditional Serbian housing (possibility of buying souvenirs, medicinal herbs, rare sorts of brandy and homemade food). Sargan 8 - popular narrow gauge railway unique in the world. Mokra Gora - Wooden city built by famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica After lunch departure to Belgrade. Arrival to the hotel and overnight Day four - After breakfast, transfer to Belgrade airport and connecting flight to your home. NOTE: Possible extension - one or more days on Zlatibor lake or in Belgrade with combination of other sightseeing and excursion. |
